Black Cats & Old Dogs Animal Rescue began with a simple belief: every animal deserves a second chance, no matter its age, color, or condition. Based in Tallahassee, Florida, we are an all-volunteer, foster-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
We specialize in rescuing the pets that other rescues pass over — black cats who wait longest in shelters, senior dogs overlooked for puppies, and animals with medical or behavioral needs who have run out of time. We do not turn an animal away because of its age, sex, breed, color, temperament, or health.
Every animal we rescue receives complete veterinary care and lives in a loving foster home — never a cage — until we find the right forever family.
Age, breed, color, and health never decide an animal's worth. Every life matters.
Our animals heal in real foster homes, surrounded by comfort and love.
We help families keep their pets through spay/neuter and emergency support.
A small group of dedicated volunteers who give their time, homes, and hearts to these animals.
Black Cats & Old Dogs Animal Rescue, Inc. is a tax-exempt charitable organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We are entirely volunteer-run, which means nearly every dollar donated goes directly to the animals' veterinary care.
